Meadowlark Acres Apartments are affordable housing for elderly in Solon, Iowa.  We have 20 non smoking units, with both 1 and 2 bedroom apartments available.  We are conveniently located 10 miles north of Iowa City, IA, and only 17 miles from Cedar Rapids, IA.  Meadowlark Acres are affordable apartments for seniors who are 62 years old or disabled individuals, regardless of age. Solon provides a good location for residents to live in a smaller community and easily commute less than 20 minutes to the Veterans Administration Hospital & University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. 

Solon Iowa is a community of approximately 1200 people offering a local grocery store, a Phillips Pharmacy that delivers to those in need, a community library, Senior Dining & Meals on Wheels five days a week, SEATS transit service for residents and quiet and peaceful retirement living. 

A large recreation and nature complex is a short distance away providing for paved walking trails and other amenities such as ponds, wildlife, benches, and the connection to a five mile trail to Lake Macbride. A privately owned horse pasture is adjacent to the south providing a lovely pastoral view. St. Mary Catholic Church is located next door to Meadowlark Acres and to the east is the Solon High School.
